second time moms

I am exhausted by the afternoon and my 3yr old son at times fights his afternoon nap. So instead of fighting him I let him go on the iPad for an hr or more so I can rest. Is it horrible? I dont know how else to do it? He either wants to play, climb all over me and won't let me rest lol so I just have to give it to him, all I want is a little nap!

If my step son doesn't want to take a nap I will lay down and take one and he lays next to me and eats a snack and watches a movie. He is 4 years old now but been doing it with him for over a year and in the morning time he will sit in a little chair at the coffee table and eat breakfast and watch tv and I lay on the couch next to him. He is a good boy and doesn't get into anything.

With my 2 y/o son if he hasn't taken a nap i try to lay down with my 14month old cuz i know my 2 year old will wake me up if he needed something n he doesn't get into anything he just plays with his own toys or he'll put a movie in and watch it but i don't do it all the time.

Even when my 3 year old takes a nap with me I am exhausted. Most mornings she comes in my room to wake me up and crawls in bed with me and plays games or watches movies on my kindle for about half an hour until she tells me she is hungry.  I need that extra rest and playing hooked on phonics games isn't hurting her so I dont feel bad about it.

It is nice to just hear that it is okay and other moms do it too! I feel we always get the "dont let your child do this" saga...sometimes I just need a rest! Thanks ladies!

My daughter is 6 and im in the same boat. Luckily im able to take a nap while before she gets home from school so im a lil more rested. Id put on a movie or give him something fun to do while you rest.

Not at all mine hasn't napped in forever. You know what your son will and won't do. Letting him play a game for an hour once in awhile while you lay down is fine

My son will be 3 nov 2 and hasn't taken a nap in over a year lol. And no that isn't horrible. I let him put a vhs in and I lay on the couch for about an he while he watches and plays on the floor in front of me. Dont do this often but every once in awhile I just get so bloody tired I can't keep my eyes open lol
