So this is my very first pregnancy and I just Confirmed it 2weeks ago. I'm 6 weeks along but I'm wondering if it's too soon to go shopping just for the basics like blankets oneies binkys pacifiers toiletries (lotion, bathwash, etc) or should I wait until after my 1st appointment with my Dr. Which will be on the 10Th of December Idk clueless and way too excited!

If I find something that I love I got it that early. But the basics I waited until later. Mainly because I didn't want to store so much stuff and the baby shower often gets you a lot of basics.

Go for it. If something is going to happen. Nothing you can do. But be positive and try for another.  kids are.expensive so IMO its never.too soon. white onsies receiving blankets stuffed animals crib bedding on sale socks gloves gender neutral stuff. Why not: -) it's exciting so your allowed to be excited

Honestly, this is my first, I'm now 33 weeks and STILL need things after our baby shower. I wish I would had bought things here and there through my pregnancy since I found out I was pregnant. Just my own personal. Cause then I wouldn't have to buy everything at once almost. I think it's cheaper to buy here and there. Maybe an item or 2 a week. Every one is different but baby number 2, I plan on doing this especially if we have a boy. Cause then will need new things. Congrats to you :-)

When I was pregnant last fall, I bought some cute neutral outfits around 7 weeks. At 11 weeks I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum. About a week after the d&c I asked my husband to put them away in a box or give them to goodwill because I couldn't do it myself - I couldn't even look at them.
When I was pregnant this past summer I bought a really cute jungle crib set and some decorations to match. At 11 weeks I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage, and gave the set away to a pregnant friend who lives far away so I'd never see it again.
I'm 9 weeks now. I've seen a heartbeat on ultrasound. I won't buy a thing until I've felt baby moving, probably even longer. I can't. I'll put money aside, save up, look at some options online. But I personally can't bear to buy anything else I might end up wanting to throw away.

If you plan on Having a baby shower maybe do an online registry list instead of buying things right away!  You can always remove things as you buy or recieve them. It satisfies your need to shop and you will find people will buy you lots of certain essential items.   My first baby i ended up with about 20 infant towels! I do understand though! It is very exciting!

congratulations!! I would wait til ur first appt at least. But its a personal decision..I was so excited to so instead of buying baby stuff I went and bought a pregnancy scrap book and expecting books. If u want everything blue for boy or pink for a girl I would def wait but my brother n sis n law went and bought both sex things and returned the boy stuff when they found out it was a girl! I'm having a girl also. Ftm due on march 12!! I've been feeling kicks for the past two weeks and its amazing!! I lay around as much as I can just to feel her!! So happy for u mommy to be!!Good luck

Just my opinion, since I'm realistic that things can happen, ie (miscarriage) then for me I would wait until at least the beginning of second trimester.  I would find it hard to accept if the pregnancy did not progress and I already bought a bunch of baby stuff.  That's just me though.  Now I'm 28wks and feel comfortable going out and buying 1 thing for my 3 boys (hubby, son & baby).  I will get big ticket items as I near my due date in Feb.  Congratulations and I hope u have a happy and healthy pregnancy!!

Thata entirely upto you. Although alot of women wait until after 12 wks, when miscarriage risks decrease.  Personally I went out and bought a cot and change table at 8 wks. And im now laying here with my 7wk old daughter on my chest as I type. Each to their own, do what you feel is right.  Best of luck
