How far along are you now? Are you trying to get a paid leave? Like state disability? I went through my obgyn. But if your primary doctor is willing to do the paperwork for you to be off from work ask if he can do it since he better understands your situation. He would just have to give you a note to give to your employer and then do the paperwork for the state disability and see if they approve you to get paid. My doctor gave me a note to put me on light duty since I work in a probation home. I had to be able to restrain teenage boys from fighting. I had to do 15 hour shifts etc. My job said they could not accomodate that note. And made me take a medical leave from work. From there the doctor was able to send in disability papers to the state. Since I was not able to perform my customary job duties. Good luck.

You can call the office of your OB and ask if they can fax a sighned letter with your due date to HR where you work.....that is what I did much easier that way.
