Second time mom dilated already!

Last week I went to the E.r because I was having bad back pains, and was told since I saw my doctor two weeks previous to the e.r visit; that I had dilated 1 1/2 CM. I am 31.4 wks. I was not put on bed rest. Just told to stay hydrated, because I was dehydrated going into the e.r. Anyhow, is anyone else dilating this soon? With my first child I was induced so I have no clue what's to come!!

Thanks I have heard it all! Some ppl have told me they started dilating and had their babies days to a weeks later. I hope that's not my case! My little man still has a little more baking to do.

You can dilate and be like yhat for weeks. Effaced helps you dilate more. Picture the cervix as a steel tube your trying to stretch open. You will dilate more if your cervix is thinning.  What wrrte you effaced? Example im 39 weeks 70 -80% effaced and almost 2cm dilated. My doc says as my cervix keeps thinning the more I will dilate.
