Im 11 weeks and the doctor said he would try to get a heartbeat with a doppler. After trying for 10 mins. He still could not find it. He said that it still is early to find it. It has me very worried and I do not have a ultrasound scheduled until next week with my high risk doctor. Anyone else expierence this?

Update:

went to my high risk doctor for ultrasound. According to my last menstural cycle my ob had calculated me at 12 weeks this week. But with the ultrasound I showed 6 weeks.

Im pretty confused how off everything is. Is this common for that much of a difference?  When I think back I had missed my period and for about 3 weeks I was getting negative pregnancy tests. I gave it a break for a couple weeks and realized I was in my second month with no period. I checked and I had a positive test. So I guess maybe stress caused a missed period or ovulation was very late?

I guess maybe thats why the ob could not find a heartbeat with the doppler at that time.

also, the high risk doctor admitted me to the hospital since I am type 1 diabetic and mybsugar levels were comming up to 180 in the am. And 140 throughout the day. He said the babys heartrate was low. I thought I heard 115. When I googled it says thats normal for 6 weeks and should pick up soon. But im also afraid of a possible miscarriage now.

Sorry about the rambeling but, any thoughts?

Try not to stress about it... easier said then done i know but at my 11w apt. my dr couldn't find the hb either and i started to cry cause i had a mc a yr ago so she did a u/s right then and there they had to do a vag. but found the hb the baby was just laying in an odd spot so it was harder to find...and on my 15w they found it immediately with the doppler so i think your fine...make sure to update after your u/s :)

I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow and they have never found the heartbeat with the Doppler. They always have to do a quick ultrasound.  I think it all depends on how and where the baby is.

They don't like the Doppler so they run away from it. There is a certain vein in there that they like to hide behind and then you'll only hear your own heart. Don't freak out yet! It is on the early side. That little heart is so tiny, and you have to be right above it to hear it. Best wishes! Hope you can hear it soon!

With my 3rd my de couldn't find either at 11 weeks. But then I learned he was down really low by my pelvis bone because it was able to find with my sisters Doppler a couple of days later.  Don't get too anxious yet.

It is early. I wouldn't let it worry you.
