water breaking

Okay, I'm 38 weeks and 4 days. I was wondering if your water just breaks a little at a time instead of all at once, how are you supposed to know?

my water busted and it gushed no slow leaks here however before i had my daughter my doctor told me that if i wasnt sure if it was leaking that i should put on a pad and it fills up withib the hour to go to the hospital...she said that from the time your water breaks til birth you only have 24 hours to deliver your baby or youll be at a higher risk for infections

When my water leaked. I thought I had to go to the bathroom.  Well I peed then when I was all done it was like I kept peeing in small gushes. I thought it broke. Though when I got to the hospital found out it was leaking.

When mine broke it was just a slow leak like when you sneeze and pee a little bit. Good luck

Normally what happens is you have a gush of water. But then the baby sorry of falls down and plugs the hole again and then not much water will leak out. A way to check if it was water is  change your clothes so you know you have clean dry pants and undies in and you lay on your side for about 15 minutes giving baby a little time to settle back up for lack of a better term and then get up. By that time if it was your water more would get between the baby's head and the opening to your cervix and when you stand up and if it gushed again you know baby had dropped some pushing out more fluid. Hope that makes sense. Also some  women will say that walking with each step a little will trickle with each step. But it's always best to call your dr and they can do a test to see if it's amniotic fluid leaking out.

When my water broke at 41 Weeks,I thought I peed myself. It started as a trickle and then gushed but not all at once. I think you'll know. I thought soooo many times before that that my water broke and was wrong but at that moment I knew:) hope that helps!
