I had that too. She seemed bothered. But she did ask if she was pressing too hard and tell her if it hurt. I just beared it. They do have to get through the skin, fat and muscle to see the baby. I can understand. But communication is always nice.
I didn't know that, thank you for telling me :)
in Went through the same at 18 weeks... and it is only her job to take as many clear pictures as she can not really going into detail with you she isn't allowed to tell you anything due to the fact that she is not a doctor if something is wrong they will schedule you for a stage 2 ultrasound with an actually specialist and explain then.
I could understand that, but it scares me to think that my babies health and growth is only known to her and she's treating it like its a hassle.
She never told me how big she was or that everything looked normal or if anything looked abnormal, I had to ask my delivery Doctor if anything was wrong or if she was growing properly.
Small babies have been known to run in my family, I just want to know that she/he is growing properly.
Unfortunately ultrasounds aren't for the benefits of the parents, they are purely for the medical team to know that your baby is progressing as it should be. It's just a lovely thing for us to see, but as long as she's got the measurements she needs and the baby is doing fine then that's her job done I'm afraid.
Mine didn't say anything directly to me, she didn't even look at me until she started bouncing the thing on my stomach. She just said stuff to the computer, half under her breath like it was a bother.
"Theres the liver.....kidneys....there's its little heart....its head and arm
...the spine....the bladder....."
She seemed like she wsntednto hurrycand get it over with as quickly as possible, and got irritated when the baby started turning. She had to try a few times to get the face picture and she sighed a few times like she wanted to just be done already.
They do have to press quite firmly in order to check all the organs, sometimes baby isn't in the right place and they do need to apply pressure to take the measurements that they need. I wouldn't think to much of it, this is my 3rd pregnancy and all my ultrasounds at that stage have had quite a lot of pressure, they always say sorry usually and explain why they have to apply pressure.
My ultrasound tech did the same thing but she told me to let her know if she was pushing too hard.
