the best laid plans...

Even with the best laid plans nothing goes as expected. Doctor had been threatening to induce for several days. Tonight was the final appointment. Yesterday went for a hike for a few miles. Came home took shower and pow, as soon as I stepped out my water broke! Went to l&d and got hooked up to monitors. Baby was in distress with every contraction and after 3 hours of no change, the doxtor performed a csection. Baby is full term but a little small. No blood sugar and quite cold. She is staying in nicu for the next 4 or 5 days to build up to a good level of weight and nutrition. She is a darling baby though and doesn't look like anything more major is wrong. Natural childbirth went right out the window. But the csection hasn't been nearly as bad as I expected. Gotta do what you gotta do to keep baby healthy. congratulations on your little one. you'll find the next few dàys fly, even though it feels like ages away. my first was in for 3 weeks. all the best! :)

Lol gotta say my big comforts were going to be walking around and using massage and positions and yoga ball. But once the water broke it was entirely too gross to do anything but just sit or lie down and not move much. 5lb 5oz baby. 19 inches long.

Wow, congratulations to you and your baby! What a story. Not everything  goes as planned. I have a wish for a certain labor but I don't know if it's gonna turn out the way I wish. Maybe Im a controll freak but I really would like to know how it's gonna end up for me so I can be prepared.
