the waiting game beings!

I had my membranes stripped about30 mins ago I'm 2 cm dilated and 70-80% effaced. How long now? What can I do to help it along? I'll be induced Wednesday if it don't work!

Your Dr or nurse uses their fingers to separate your waters sack from your cervix. It in some cases releases hormones that will aid in starting contractions. They do it in the office, its pretty simple.

What do you mean by getting your membranes stripped?  I'm a first time mom and have no idea what that means so just wondering!

I'll be induced Wednesday so she just wanted to see if I would go on my own. I'm losing more plug and cramping some but nothing serious

I'm due this Thurs & had mine stripped last Thursday. I'm 4cm dilated & the stripping did nothing for us:(  this is my 3rd baby & the most stubborn in terms of being born. I've tried everything to put us in labor & still nothing. It is truly up to the baby & not us Mommas.

I am in the exact same boat. A loose 2 cm dilated 70% effaced...they say if it's going to work it will be within the next 48 hours. And if it dosnt your body just isn't ready :(
