thermal risks?

I keep hearing to avoid hot tubs, long baths, even hot showers... I understand its not good but haven't found an answer why and how it can potentially harm my baby? Anyone know?

So it increases baby temp, can prolonged thermal exposure eventually cause miscarriage? How about reverse, too cold temps for too long?

Doc said hot tubs are fine as long as it is no more than about 10 minutes or so because more than that can raise your core temperature which can be harmful to baby. I almost pass out in hot showers so I cant take them any more but I still take warm baths a few times a week because it is relaxing and helps ease sore muscles. I will stay in the tub forever but again I dont get the water super hot

Raises the temperature of your baby.  Think of your stomach as an oven...
