We started right when we found out the sex which I was 13 weeks. U cant think about losing the baby and if it came to that u can return whatever u buy. U know ur gonna need a crib, a bunch of onsies and sleepers, u dont really need shoes cause they dont wear them hardly, socks and hats, bath stuff, diapers and wipes, I got a swing being that im home alone for 21 days ill need it if I want to get anything done, stroller, car seat, diaper bag
Well...have you thought of having a baby shower? You'll get a lot of goodies from that. But really...for the beginning, all you need are the essentials. Clothes, diapers, wipes, bibs, soaps for bath, blankets etc. You'll be fine. And yes...its time to shop.
And knowing her size? I mean unless ur doctor says that ur at risk for preterm labor everything will be newborn
Ok thanks I think I will start shopping next week. I even feel bad sometimes because I dont what my baby to think that we are not excited for her. My mom is planning a baby shower for me but is not going to be until January or February
If ur having a baby shower just register and go shopping after. You'll get and terror of the things there that u can exchange, keep. I would wait until after the baby shower. I'm on my 4th n I never had a baby shower b4.
I am 34. we just finished the room and bought the bed but no cloths, dippers, bottles...We plan on going and buying it pretty much all at once. If I started shopping at 13 I wouldn't stop and would have a bunch of stuff plus I know I would change my mind a million times.I know few women that had their children grow so quickly that they didn't have the time to put them all the clothes neither once. One friend has a 2 month old boy that is wearing stuff for six to nine months old already. The other one had a small baby that for a longer period couldn't even wear the 1 month clothes but 00. So I think there is no need to make such a big deal out of it and stress so much as most of the women do. It's not like the shops will be closed once you had your baby. We are planning on buying the necessary stuff and then see when the baby comes how is it going...for example - do we like that kind of bottles and would we buy more.
So don't panic and do what it makes you feel better! (but don't stress yourself about stupid things as - I bought it at 20th week not 13th cos the baby's gonna use it when it's born either way lol)
