Getting induced.

I had my first appointment last month and was told I was 9 weeks, which couldn't be right. I guess they base it off how long the fetus is? I guess my baby is longer than what he/she is supposed to be lol I was talking with my mom about it and she said they'll probably induce me if it's too long. I was just wondering what does it feel like to be induced?

I was induced with my first born because they felt he was running out of room. He literally took up my entire stomach. He stretched from my pelvic bone to the top of my rib cage. I had a pretty pleasant experience with the induction. They started my iv early in the morning. The contractions come on pretty strong but I have a high pain tolerance. I was only in full blown labor 5 hours. I have heard other people say that the pitocin didn't really work for them and they were in labor for a lot longer. Everyone is different.

They base it off of several measurements. You wont really know if you need to be induced or not until you hit your third trimester. My little guy is actually a pretty big baby himself and is due in 2 days and theyve never talked about inducing me. Length doesnt really have much bearing on induction. Its really poundage they look at. But to answer your question, from what Ive read, induction can really go either way. Most people say it's painful because it forces your body into going into labor instead of allowing it to happen naturally. Every one that I know that has been induced (for medical reasons) all said it was pretty painful. But once again, it's still far to early to definitively say wether or not you will even need to be induced.
