Baby Shower

I'm 23 weeks pregnant, due in February but need help deciding on a date to have my baby shower. I know that it's getting really close to major holidays and I don't want to set a date that conflict with the holidays or people shopping for Christmas gifts or saving for Black Friday. What do you think the best time would be to set a date for a baby shower being that I'm due the beginning of next year. My friends & family will come regardless just 2 hang out & eat, but I don't want them to come empty handed because they out spent or just couldn't buy anything because they saving for their own immediate families for the holiday. Is this selfish, or a reasonable concern? I mean, everyone knows why people have baby showers.....

I'm due first week of February and decided to do ours December 6th. Figured that would give us time after Christmas and New year's to fill any holes and would conflict the least with other holiday parties.

I've had the same battle! I'm also due in Feb and don't want to wait til last minute (January) and it's getting close to the holidays. I ended up deciding to have my shower December 7th. It's after thanksgiving, maybe family will include the baby item in on their black Friday shopping. And then it's a few weeks before Christmas. It's not really my ideal time but it will have to work. I also live quite aways from a town big enough to have big box stores so I wanted to let family know the date in advance.

I had the same concern lol it's totally normal to feel like that, I mean we need stuff for our babies and we spend money on food exc.. for everyone who comes. I'm 20 weeks, due March 15th and am going to have mine end of January/beginning of February bc like you mentioned, don't want to cram it by the holidays it's easier on everyone. Try to do it the end of January so everyone has a few weeks to recover from Christmas.
