who is not planning on breastfeeding?

Being a first time mom, I'm trying to get all of the input I can. Every post I see on here about breastfeeding is positive. With everything, there are always 2 sides. My questin is, who planned on breastfeeding but didn't continue and why? Is there anyone who is unsure or doesn't plan on breastfeeding? Please don't give abrasive responses about how breastfeeding is the only way. I just want to see this aspect from all, unbiased points of view.

formula fed my first and breastfed my second til 9 months. took a couple weeks for him to latch properly so almost gave up because  it was painfull and frustrating. glad i continued, formula is so expensive..gave him formula at 9months for two months and then bout 10-11months started him on regular milk. i stopped at 9 months because he got teeth and i didn't want to get bit. i plan to breastfeed this one too...my goal is for 9 months. definitely more convenient to breastfeed

Hey. Currently pregnant with no3 baby at 5 weeks. With my first I bottle fed as i was extremely embarrassed about talking about breastfeeding or even trying it. I hated the thought of a baby being latched onto to my boob. I wouldn't discuss it with anyone, if someone asked me I told them point blankly no I will not be breastfeeding even though midwives and my family kept on saying you should do it, it's better for the baby. So I ignored them and bottle fed my 1st. now 6 she's perfectly fine. It's your choice, no matter what you choose it doesn't matter. With my second I looked into it a little bit more. I read a lot about it and asked midwives questions and I told my partner I would try it, even did pros and cons and pros out weighed cons, it did take a lot of convincing me to give it ago even tho I thought I would be embarrassed to do it when baby was born but I tried it and the moment she was put there and fed I knew immediately that I loved it. And so with my 3rd I will breastfeed again. Xxx

My first I tried for 2 days but he wouldn't latch right and I had nobhelp and knew nothing about lactation consultants. With this one I was determined it was so painful the first week I dreaded feedings I went and saw a lactation consultant 6 days pp and she helped so much after the soreness went away in a few days its like nothing. After the first month I pumped and bottle fed but that's very time consuming. So I went back to just breastfeeding. Once he can hold his own bottle I'll go back to pumping and breastfeeding occasionally to keep my supply up. Breast feeding isn't for everyone but I think everyone should try. I'm 3 months pp and now all I have to do is pull out my boob and he latches himself its super easy.

I plan on Breastfeeding as long as I produce but with both my son's it was 4 months and my milk started drying up. I don't know why I ate more and drank plenty but my body just doesn't seem to produce long.

I love all of these comments! Just pure feedback with no negative connotations either for or against breastfeeding. I've got plenty of time to decide and really appreciate your input. Thank you ladies!

I breastfed both of mine for over a year each. It seems to be the only thing that my reproductive system does well. I have tons of issues like cysts on the ovaries, bleeding out, eclampsia etc but I can produce milk like a pro lol.
