Hiya all. I work with adults who have learning difficultiea and sometimes present challenging behaviour. At the weekend a gentlemen who I support threatened me, grabbed me by both wrists and attempted to punch me in the stomach, later that evening I ebded up in A and E with chest pains and shortness of breath and my blood pressure was extremly high. Does anyone know the next step to take with my employer regarding my situation?? I want to go off sick but cant really afford to. Someone help please??

Talk to your supervisor in regards to switching you with a different non as aggressive adult with less behaviors for your safety during your pregnancy.

Can you do work that doesn't involve caring for him?
When I was heavily pregnant with my first I was working in aged care and one of the residents was very verbally abusive towards me. I rang my boss in tears and they said I didn't have to go to his house anymore (was in home care for elderly people).
Do you have any sick leave saved up? Maybe have a chat with HR and see what they say.
