The 4 weeks before is a take it or lose it deal cause the last month is the most uncomfortable for most women and can have the baby at any time. Not too sure when the 6 weeks starts but it has to be after the baby is born. becca87C

I'm from California and have been wondering about that, I only quality for Paid disability leave because I haven't been with the company for a year or the 1250 hrs they require. But I've heard I get 4weeks prebaby and 6weeks post, I was wondering if I take less before if I can use those post partum. Also if I do take those 4 pre baby weeks and I have him a week or two into those 4 weeks if my 6 weeks start then and there or not begin until the date I should have been due? With my other two boys I just stopped working so I've never had to worry about going back to work or seeing how much time I got off...if you know the answers to these questions that would be great. TIA

Good question and these answers help give me some peace of mind. I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and at work I'm on my feet all day. The work isn't too strenuous and I feel good still except my feet are huge and my shoes don't fit. Lol I hear a lot of women saying they work until the last day to spend more time with baby but the time you take off before your EDD doesn't change the time you get off after, at least here in Cali. You still get the bonding time+ disability+ whatever time off u have accrued over the year. So I'm still debating.... I want time off before the baby but I been saying this will be my last week. Still unsure. Although I haaaate my job. Idk...damn

With my other 2 I struggled working past 30weeks. I found it much easier to stop than carry on. Thankfully this one I don't have payed work to give up. Although a 24/7 mum to2 under 5 is not a walk in the park but no boredom. :-)

Depends on how easy or hard my pregnancies are. My first, second, and third I worked up until a few days before csections. This one i stopped at 20 weeks due to bp and  having extreme pain.

I stopped at 36 weeks.  I felt like my Co workers were lazy and I was hauling *** at 8 months pregnant so I decided to take it off and have them pull their own weight

I'm 35 weeks, left work yesterday at noon because of contractions... Home on rest today, giving the choice to my boss if he wants me there to do half my job or not at all. Luckily I'm on salary, unfortunately contractions haven't stopped either.

I stopped at 35 weeks but it was too long for me. I didn't end up having baby until 40+6 so I was super bored.
