worried

My hubby brought home a small turtle the other day and I cleaned out a tank for it and held it a few times. I washed my hands afterwards each time but my sisters came over yesterday and told be careful cuz they carry bacteria that can be harmful to pregnant woman. I haven't touched him since yesterday but now I feel so paranoid. Should I bring it up on my next appointment.

I had nothing to add, but thought of licking your hands or a turtle, and I just about died! So funny!

I agree with the above poster. As long as you wash up well and don't lick your hands or the turtle then you are fine lol

My kids have a pet turtle. Yes they carry salmonella on their shell. But as long as you wash your hands well you're likely fine. Think of the turtle like raw chicken... use the same precautions when handling him. :)
