xrays :/

Hello girl's. .
So today I went to my dentist appointment.  I got 4 xrays in my mouth.  I was shield from neck to stomach.  I'm going on 26 weeks tomorrow.  
But now I'm a little worried , hoping it was safe.
Have you girls been through this? ?

Xrays are okay as long as they cover you with a lead covering. I had a diagnostic one done on my chest. But don't just go for them unless you absolutely need to know prior to your baby arriving. It just increases the chance of mental delays, but that's after several scans.

After second trimester you should be fine...I had one done just few days ago...

Most dental xrays are digital now, I had one 2weeks ago and my OB said the risk of radiation was low you would have to get alot of xrays done before something extreme would happen.

I work at a dental office. They normally will do x rays during second trimester or if a patient is in a lot of pain. At my office they get a letter from the patients obgyn that says they can have them done then we double apron them. I am sure baby is safe. You actually get more radiation from standing in front of the microwave or from sitting at the computer.  The radiation level is really low.  Next time you go to your obgyn maybe just mention it

I had an abdominal xray during surgery while under general anesthetic at 21wks pregnant. Drs tend to weigh up the risks and benefits and unfortunately some things can't wait.

Like if I had tooth pain, he would want xrays to see how bad a cavity was or other issues.

My dentist said that it isn't going to hurt, but unless I am having pain, then he sees no reason to do them while pregnant.

I went to the dentist today an she asked is it ok if i do xrays i said im pregnant an she said then i wnt do them will wait. I mean if ur covered its fine but most dentist wont do them.

They covered you with something that blocks the radioactive waves from baby.  You'll be fine.

My dentist refused to do any xrays while pregnant but I have heard that some do them after the first trimester.

They did ask. It was a oral camera.

They always ask if theres any chance you could be pregnant and i always assumed they wouldnt do the xray if you were and put it off...no idea if it is safe. I wont have any, ill wait until after.
