HCG Levels

I went to the Dr. yesterday 4/23/08 and had my second ultrasound done. It is showing that I am 10 weeks 5 days although my Dr. has changed my delivery date 3 times. My first ultrasound was done at 6 weeks. Both times we saw a strong heart beat. Yesterdays visit showed a perfect little developing baby. I saw legs and arms and its head...everything. The Dr. said that everything looked great. The baby even moved quite a bit for me. I have been trying to stay positive with this pregnancy despite my last pregnancy ending in a miscarriage. The Dr. has been monitoring my HCG levels every week along with progestrine. I am on progestrine sup. right now to make that level rise. It is around 19.34 according to my blood work yesterday, however 3 weeks ago my HCG levels were good and now for the past 2 weeks they are decreasing instead of increasing. I can't understand this because the ultrasound was so good. Has anyone every went through this ???? Can you please advise me...I have cried and worried all day. I want this baby more than the world and don't want to lose hope. I have had no bleeding...no spotting....nothing but good signs. I just don't like my levels decreasing. I read a few forums that said that sometimes your HCG can Level itself out btwn 8-12 weeks. Is it possible that mine is just trying to level itself out ????? To anyone else out there going through this....my heart goes out to you. God and family are the only things that get me by.

I do believe (but am not 100% sure) that HCg levels decrease after a certain period.  What does your doctor tell you is normal for your baby's gestation?

You might want to post this on the general 21-34 forum, as this was created for people having their babies in April '08.  On the other forum, you might get more responses.
