The oil will not hurt the baby but it can cause the baby to poop inside you which can cause harm to the lungs if the baby does poop. My family members have tried it with success, but i never have. You can have your SO to insert his/her fingers inside you and strip your membranes. But they need to wear gloves the cervix is not hard to find. But before you do that try taking a hot bath or shower and soak for a well the hot water stimulates contractions. Rough sex can help also. Do jumping jacks and flash dance. These are all things i did while i was pregnant and went into labor the same night. I was 4 cm at my appt went home did those things then went in at 5-6 cm. So hopefully you had your baby already but if not

some people believe that castor oil besides giving you major "runs" can cause baby to pass merconium which can be dangerous.... buts theres no solid evidence to support that... but i will tell you if your body is not ready to go into labor the oil wont cause you to go into labor
