labor positions

Iv been reading some articles on positions to make it less painful and uncomfortable  for labor. I will be in the hospital  and I don't wanna be on my back pushing. But can you really give birth in a different  position at the hospital will the nurses let you? Both my other preganacies  I was on my back typical position legs spread and push. Some of the positions that I'd like to try involve being upright or squatting. How many of you gave birth in a different positions in other pregnancies  and howd it feel. Also did you at the hospital?   It just makes sense if your using gravity to help.

My hospital let's you labor in pretty much any pos8you want to. Once you get an epidural you need to either be on your back or side because you can't feel your legs. The nurses will keep turning you from side to side to help your labor

Dr and him not letting me.

My doctor told me as long as I don't get the epidural I can give birth any way I want to... squatting, standing, water, etc :) I want to try the birthing bar and squatting

No epidural here I'm gonna go without the discomfort of it. Also at the kaiser I'm giving birth at there's is no water birth  and I'm not sure about the birthing bar.

You can ask if the hospital uses a birthing bar, I believe with the birthing bar it's a squatting position. My hospital I think has one room that has the bar and another that has a tub for water births. The nurse on the tour said they have them, but people rarely use them.
