breast pumps?

I'm pregnant with my first.. Due April 16th. I'm planning on breastfeeding. I'm not really sure how the whole breast pump thing being covered with insurance goes? Does anyone know if blue cross blue shield covers some of the cost? Or all of it? Thanks. :-)

If it isn't covered keep your receipt bc it is tax deductible!

Thank you ladies! It helps a lot! I'll have to call them. I believe my plan is 90/10 but not sure.

Hi ladies! I got my breast pump taken care of through aeroflow. I just happened to run onto the company while browsing the Internet one day. They have great reviews and do all the foot work for you. I never even had to call my insurance! My rep was so nice and answered any questions I had. Before you give up on your insurance, you should contact Aeroflow, it's worth it! I hope this helps you all. :)

It depends on your plan, there are hundreds of different Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, it doesn't matter whether it's BCBS, United, Aetna, etc- it matters what plan you have. There's no way to tell unless you ask or know someone, at work for example, you can check with HR if you get your plan through your job.

I called a month or so to check. This is what they told me.... If you have the 80/20 plan, it is covered.  If you have the 70/30 plan, it is not.... Unfortunately,  I have the 70/30 plan, so I'm having to pay for mine out of pocket.

I have bcbs and I called to see what is covered in my plan. They said I have 100% coverage, and all I need to do is get my prescription from my dr for it. Then they gave me a list of medical supply pharmacies in my area that have them. I called the one near my house and they said all I need to do is bring in the prescription at 3wks and I can walk out with it

Best bet is to give them a call. I have united health care and they cover the whole cost but you can only order it 30 before your due date
