strange cramping in hand...help appreciated

I'm 28 weeks along and just these past couple days I've been experiencing a strange cramping in my left hand. I feel a tingling down past my wrist also  but my concern is when I make a fist or grab something, my hand cramps in the closed position and I have a a bit of a hard time opening it back up. It's not very difficult to open my hand back up but takes a bit more effort than just naturally. Anyone else get cramping in their hand when grasping something?

I don't typically work with my hands a lot but recently just finished painting my nursery. Spent about week with all the taping, painting, touch ups etc. Maybe that brought it on?
I hope it's not carpal tunnel...I see my doc tomorrow so I'll definitely bring it up.

Yes you can get carpal tunnel while pregnant and they say it goes away after ward. They recommend wearing a wrist splint at night.  I have tingling and some numbness
