didn't get to do it with my first... she came before we could really read everything and decide. Honestly, most of what i have read indicated that it is not worth paying the money to bank yours. However, in the interest of advancing medical knowledge, I will look in to donating it this time.
I know that it is really expensive and I have heard of people doing it if they themselves or a child they already have can benefit from it. I do think you can donate it though to help others. I think it would be a great thing to do, but it is really expensive...
i decided that if i dont bank i will just donate it , at least it will help some other kid that needs it right know:)
I am doing it this time. I didn't get to with my 1st 2 kids, so I'm doing with this last one... It is quite expensive but so worth it to me.
I go back and forth on this one. The odds of you needing the cord blood are so slim it's not a good investement, however that said if you have that .001% need how horrible would you feel if you didn't do it.
I haven't decided yet. Considering that my hubby is adopted and has Crohn's disease, the cord blood cells may be used to help him at some point, but I have heard that it's expensive. Guess I'll just have to ask for more information and weigh the facts.
I would donate it but I will not store it for our own use, as the chance of using it is very low.
