I have been giving to him all day in addition to water. Cruz is not all that big on juice, he takes about an ounce and moves on! But boy does he love water! Since this is his last week on formula, I am still "assessing" the situation! I would love for him to take it all with his meals but 16 oz that is a lot in three sittings if you do not include snack time!
I rather offer and have him take some at odd times then not at all!
I give milk with meals, plus at times he used to get a bottle, like before bed. So, milk w/ breakfast luch and dinner, plus after nap (~3:00) and before bed (~7:30). Water in between. He drinks maybe 6-8 ounces of milk at a time?
Wow, that sounds like a lot of milk now that I'm writing it down...
We are completely off the bottle and I offer milk at every meal/snack, we do three meals and two small snacks. Cash was doing the same thing Joel is doing. If he knows he is going to get juice/water he will only take enough milk to wash his food down. So, I just give juice/water randomly and some days not at all so he doesn't know when to expect it. Once I did that his milk intake went up. It's hard getting him to sit down for 16oz a day though bc when he's done eating he wants to play play play. Now, if I put him in the car and ride around he will drain his cup dry. So, sometimes I am just shoving the sippy cup of milk in his face all day until he gets the 16oz. And some days we just don't get there - but I make sure to give him yogurt or cheese to supplement.
Alex is so all over the place with his eating... He hardly eats ANYTHING - I'm starting to get worried. Then to top that off I've tried milk, and it upsets his stomach so bad, I might have to switch to Soy... which concerns me too. Yes he has been on Isomil(soy) formula but I was hoping he could atleast switch to lactose free milk, but no dice... he's been up every couple hours each night since he started getting little bits mixed w/his formula... needless to say, it looks like we'll be going another week of formula until I get this figured out. Now if he would only eat something, it wouldn't be such a huge deal! ugh
Well, it looks like we are still in all the same boat! I still offer milk all day but it is getting better. Cruz is completely off the bottles (its been a full week). He drinks about 8 oz of milk when he wakes up about 10 oz at Daycare and about 4-6oz at night. I am adding dry milk to his whole milk for extra calories. He is still little so we are trying to make sure he does not fall of the growth charts. He also eats 4-6oz of yogurt mixed with oatmeal and evaporated milk every morning. So, I know he is getting his dairy. We are still having trouble with textures but we are having more luck if I stand and hold him while he eats. He will eat anything like that, so for right now I eat where he wants!! Probably not the best idea but it is better then fighting. After a few days of him not eating at all I will do whatever it takes! Hang in there JAXX he will probably start eating again very soon, did you switch to soy yet? Maybe once his tummy feels better he will eat well again!
