LOL- if you wouldn't like sleeping on the ground when you're NOT pregnant, you probably wouldn't enjoy it while preggo!! = )
I had to laugh at your post, though, because my family loves camping and we plan to camp right up until baby is born. (I am one of those strange people who actually likes sleeping on the ground; hubby keeps wanting to get a camper, and I say no way!)
Anyway, maybe your hubby would consider staying in cabin? A cabin would be a great compromise that lets you sleep in a real bed, yet still affordable and rustic.
Good luck!
I love camping too! However.... that said there is no way you could get me to sleep any place other than my comfy bed right now. Maybe if your dh threw an air mattress into the deal it wouldn't be so bad. Think of it this way you don't sleep at home you won't sleep while camping, but your dh would probably have a really good time.
I dont' know if it was me I would ask for the air mattress and then go. My dh has been so understanding with all my mood swings and everything else that I try to be a little more easy going for him that usual.
I love camping but I am ashamed to admit that I have never really ruffed it:( Yes I camp in a tent and go potty outside, but I have always been spoiled. My hubby always packs a air mattress. I dont think I could ever sleep on the ground:( I think your hubby needs to except the fact that you didnt like to camp before getting pregnant, what make him think you will enjoy it now?? I agree with jenkaye21, maybe you could stay in a cabin??
I love camping too and although I am just about 21 weeks now and big, I am still comfortable. I think the biggest issue is that you didn't like camping before hand and it certinely isn't going to be appealing to you now. BUT, if this is your first baby you may like the time with DH. I am with the others...throw in an air mattress and see if you can handle it for the night if it means alot to DH.
Well, I would say that if you don't like camping NOT pregnant, you definately wouldn't like it pregnant. So your feelings are not odd.
I love camping. In fact, we just got back last night from a weekend at the lake. I'm 20 weeks now. We just made reservations for another lake weekend in April, and a weekend at the beach in May. We aren't going to make reservations past May, tho, because I'm not sure how I'll feel. However, we have an RV that's pretty comfy. So that's not true "camping"...lol.
That aside, there *are ways to make tent camping comfortable if you want to give it a go. We still do some tent camping here and there, and it's usually not bad. A campground with a nice bathroom with showers is a MUST. A roomy tent with a NICE air mattress is just as comfortable as my bed in my trailer, I think. Just take plenty of pillows!

Oh the air mattress was a gimme, but even with the air mattress I still don't think I could have been comfy. I told him I'd go if we got a cabin, I'd go. I have no idea why he wants me to go ...usually he has these little group adventure which entail four or five people. I don't know if he was serious or just yanking my chain. Here's the repsonse I got when I said I would go if we stayed in a cabin! LOL!
His respone: "We will sleep on the ground with no mattress, just dirt. This is how the settlers lived, so we need to get in touch with our roots."
what a goober! I'd rather go to Hawaii and hang out on the beach where there are beds and toilets nearby.
Oh and I forgot to metion the last time I went with him, he forgot tent poles and we slept under the stars in freezing cold colorado. Brrr! But back then I still had on the thick rose colored googles, so I put up with more! I thought it was romantic!
LOL. Your husband sounds pretty funny. But, yeah, I'm with you. Much as I love camping, I'd definatley prefer Hawaii. ;-) Shoot for the stars, girl.
