29 days until we find out the sex!!!

Just had my NT Scan & bloodwork things are looking good so far! The bean is about 2 1/2 inches long - and looks like a real baby now =) I go back at 16 weeks for the second part of the bloodwork test...and they will determine the gender while we're there! woo hoo! can't wait!!!

the way the genetic counselor explained the nt scan - they basically see if they can detect a nasal bone & they measure the skin on the back of the neck (i think). the presence of a nasal bone & a measurement under 3 are both good signs that the baby does not have down syndrome or something else...can't remember what! the genetic counselor said that this scan combined with the blood work they did the other day gives you a 90% chance that the baby is healthy. then the blood work they do at 16 weeks brings it up to 95%. so i'm super happy the baby looked good!!! =)

I haven't had an u/s since I was like 8 wks. I'm going on 15 wks. I have my next Drs. appt at 16 weeks. What is an NT scan?

i hate the gender wait!!! lol. i'm pretty sure i'm having another boy ( i have three already and no girls) but we'll see. let us know what you're having

I just scheduled my 12 week ultrasound today for Feb 16th.  Can't wait to see the little one.  My last ultrasound, I was only 6 and half weeks, and it was a little line on the screen.

I think the next set of bloods is the usual one they do which checks for spina-bifida (sp?) and some other stuff.  It is done later than the NT test.

alexia-  Congrats on a great NT test.  We can't wait to find out the sex either.,..but most of all just knowing it is a healthy baby...but dying to know the sex!!!

What do they do for the second part of the blood test?  I did the NT test and they never mentioned coming back for more tests.  They did tell me that I had to make a 20 wk scan so I could get the gender test.

I had my scan done on Monday and the tech that did my u/s also did it in 4d just for fun and we were able to see his little male parts and I am barely 12w today he measures 12w4d. I guess we just got lucky. I also go back on Mar 20 for my second part.
