Cooper will be 9 months on Friday and hasn't even tried to crawl.  He LOVES sitting up, and gets mad if I put him on his belly or if he falls over onto his belly.  One of my other kids never crawled at all, so I'm not worried about it, just actually glad that I don't have to baby-proof much (yet!).

Are the blankets making a difference?? Everytime we put one down it just slides with him.

I know it is hard not to compare but it was save your sanity!

yeah we have hardwood floors too so we lay lots of blankets to add padding. its just hard not to compare. my friends baby is 2 weekd older than taylor and she crawls and walks along the couches. its just stressful but i feel that shes getting closer everyday. she like to hold on to fingers and walk. today she seemed like she was wanting to run.

Cruz is about two seconds away from crawling. He does move around but you can't really call it crawling. But it is funny to watch him try! Cruz is way more interested in walking, we hold onto his fingers and he takes off, sometimes his little feet look like Fred Flintstone when they "drive" their car!

You must remember crawling is not even considered a mildstone so try not to stress about it! When your little one is ready she will go!

By the way we have hardwood floors too! I wonder if this does pose a problem???

she will get there. My Taylor is on the move but not doing a full crawl. She does what they call an army crawl, but man is she fast!! Now my last son was only 7 months old and walking along furniture and climbing into/onto things. My Taytay isnt even close. Every baby is diffrent and I have a hard time remembering that, lol. I am always compairing and driving myself nutz!

9 months is definitely still OK to not be crawling. Although it sounds like she's getting pretty close, so I'd start babyproofing soon ;)

Its true what they say about babies developing at diffrent stages. I am a first time mom. My older sisters daughter i just 1 week younger than my dd Seanna who is 10 mths old. Seanna is crawing at the speed of lighting, walking along the sofa and this week learning to stand on her own. Where as Jaya my sisters daughter has just learnt how to sit up even then she flings herself backwards, but is learming how to save her head from banging on the floor. She is not intrested in wanting to crawl, i am wondering if her wood flooring has something to do with it? I might be wrong, the reason i say that is i have carpet everywhere barr the kitchen and then she is in her walker. One thing i found helpful in getting her to crawl was put something in front of her i.e toy, mobile phone, t.v remote to try and get her to reach. Give her time and then one day out the blue she will move forward. I hope this helps, and try not to compare your dd to another baby as they are all diffrent.
