Cramping

Hey all..

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced any period-type cramping throughout their pregnancy? I am currently 25w. I saw my reg. OB dr today and I mentioned them to her. She said unless they're like contraction-consistancy, I have several contractions per hour, or I have leaking fluids or bleeding to not worry about them. I don't have any preterm labor signs. I looked.

Most of the cramping is lower, but a bit off to the sides. It's on the both left and right sides. I started experiencing this about 2-3 weeks ago. My uterus doesn't get hard like it would in a contraction, which tells me I don't believe they're contractions. I still have the braxton hicks. Those aren't painful.

Just wanting opinions or experiences.. Thanks

Lisa

The only time I had cramping like that, it was followed by diarea. I'm sure that's not your problem if it's lasting 2-3 weeks.

I have that. Went to the doctor and he thought I was having preterm contractions. So, he scheduled me for an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed none of that.

What you are probably having is pain from pulling your ligaments and it is quite normal. Your uterus is stretching, and remember, when muscles stretch or shrink....it hurts. I wouldn't worry about it although I know how painful it can be. It feels like you are on your period and it hurts bad!! There is absolutely no medication for that. The only thing you can do is try to get in a position that is most comfortable at that time. I find that walking around the room or the house makes me feel better.

Its probably your body telling u to drink more water or go poopy. I get it too but its usually followed by a trip to the potty. They don't sound like contractions. Hope this helps

You are probably just having round ligament pain which is very normal. i agree that you are probably not drinking enough water either which can contribute to the aches and pains.

Last week @25 weeks I was having some cramping like that. It scared me a little but I knew if it was contracting and lasting for at least a minute and happening every few minutes then it was ok. It went on for two days but no blood, leaking, or anything and it just stopped completely all of the sudden. I wouldn't worry unless it is really strong and holding strong for at least a minute then coming close together.

Thanks all for your help. I appreciate it.

The cramping has since subsided.. woohoo.. I'm not sure what they were but glad they are gone.  I hope to not experience them again...
