Yeah i had braces. I ate soft things like fries and soups. The pain does die down a bit after a week, but the bad news is that it hurts almost just as bad every time they tighten them! Good luck though

I totally feel your pain. I had braces and facial reconstruction when I was 16 to correct a birth defect and the pain was unbearable! I'd put it right up there with labor and delivery. Enjoy trying some new soups that you haven't before (you'd be surprised how different your taste buds are now that you are pregnant!) And gorge on freezies and Popsicles.  It may hurt a lot now, but trust me, the end result will be totally and completely worth it. (Helpful tip- the wax they give you to cover the pokey areas will REALLY come in handy during labor and delivery, make sure to bring that and your favorite chapstick with you to the hospital!)
