Oh that's so awesome! I'm so glad you found an OB you can trust.
I thought it would be pretty hard to find a doctor that does VBAC's, but mine was surprisingly easy. I guess it depends on where you live, how far you're willing to drive, and how many OB's are around you. I just looked in the phone book for as far away as I planned on traveling, and called each of them and asked. I'm driving about 45 minutes away, but I'm very confident with this doctor and staff!! Good luck, I hope you find one!
can we find a listing of docs that do bvacs? both my old ob and my new one say no :(
AwwwwwW! That's how I feel about natural birth. :) You're going to do great! Keep that confidence!
Thank you! I really hope I can, would LOVE to see how it feels to have a natural experience!
Hey Ktowne!
Glad your doc is on board! That is great news. I know you can do it.
Best WIshes.
Hmmmm, I'm having a hard time finding somewhere to vacation in Florida, much less deliver! Try looking at sites like "healthgrade". com and other sites where they list the number. You can always call and ask! :) It's a really good question since some offices don't have insurance to cover VBAC & some have written policies!
Where can I find an Obgyn that does vbac in Ft. Lauderdale or Boca, Florida?
i hope he lets you try for your vbac hun=). that will be good for him. my mom was a little worried until she met my doctor and now shes okay with it=).
I still plan on trying, yes, no matter the size. My husband is a little worried about me trying a VBAC, because last time the emergency c-section really scared him, he'd like things to be a little more planned, I think. But he's going to meet with my OB next visit so he can ease his mind a little!
Well that sounds like awesome news! They are being safe and letting you try for your dream birth! That's so exciting! I'm so happy for you. Thank you so much for sharing.
so i had a L&D visit last night and i asked what they would do for vbac moms who wants to try for a vaginal birth and she told me that pitocine is safe as long as its low does and alittle at a time and have a monitor inside to measure how hard the contractions are and they do have wireless monitor's on me and being up and walking around=)
I'm glad you're trying! That's so great to hear.
My 9.1lb baby hurt a lot less than my 7.9 (and the 9.1 was my first)
I think she was so ready and strong, she did most of the work and pushed herself out w/ me.
=) would you still try if the baby is almost 10lb? im going to try even though im a little scared of having a large baby=P.
That's what he told me too, if I feel uncomfortable with the size of the baby, I can opt for a c-section, but if I want to try, thats okay, too! Very exciting!!
thats great hun!! im so excited for you that you get to try for a vbac=). i asked my doctor about babies weight when it was time to go into labor and from what he told me it dose not matter how much they weigh that there has been women who delivered a 10lb baby and had a vbac=),
After talking to my OB, he thinks I should try a VBAC, so I don't regret NOT trying. I'll be doing a VBAC as long as the baby doesn't get too large (still my decision, if I want to try or not) and I absolutely LOVE him. I trust him completely, I feel very comfortable trying a VBAC there! :):)
I'm excited, I loved the labor experience with my son, while I could walk around, etc. After a while I was made to lay in the bed, and it just made things 100 times worse, I could've labored the entire time without a problem if I could've walked around, done something other than laid down. The hospital I'm switching too has WAY more options, and a way more experienced staff, that I really would like to try to do it vaginally. I was progressing just fine, and they pushed pitocin on me, then I picked up my report today (to switch hospitals) from my previous birth, and it said "failure to progress" WHAT!? I had no problem progressing, and called them today to ask about it and they haven't returned my call. I was at 8cm's, and still progressing when they lost his H/B. I also had no pain medicine and they were really trying to push pain medicine on me, even though I was not requesting it, and I was not screaming or anything like that, it was getting harder to breathe through contractions, but of course, it would. I'm going to discuss all of my options with my new OB tomorrow, and what they offer as far as water births, options to stay moving, etc. And hopefully I can get the birth i really want this time!
Oh yay! I'm so glad that you're looking so far into this. I believe this would be the route I chose if I would have had a ceserian section w/ my first. (Now my husband had a vasectomy, so we're not having anymore bio children, although I'm considering a future adoption and relactating if this is our path)
:) Are you getting excited or nervous about the birth?
thats a good website that spiket77 put up=). thats how i found all my research and im going for my vba2c=).
my VBAC did work, i labored with only gas and air everything went great and im sooo glad i did it! if im lucky enough to conceive again ill defintely go VB if everything turns out to plan.
Thank you ladies, Spiket I'm planning on checking out that website before my visit Thursday!
Sam, did your VBAC's work? were they successful? I'd LOVE to hear of a successful VBAC and would LOVE to do it naturally!
its entirely up to u. y dont u write up a pros and cons list? i also had the choice with my youngest son after my son before was an emergency c section. i chose to have a VB, But my reasons for doing so were that id experienced both, and for me i liked the idea of no recovery time as i had three children and a newborn to care for, and i also experienced depression after my c section and not with my VBs . my sister inlaw is in your position, she had a c section with her first and is due with her second in 2 weeks, shes a tiny girl who also is confined to a wheelchair, shes decided on a VBAC this time. i wish you all the best in whatever u choose
I think I posted on your other one but look at the ICAN website for lots of information on VBAC.

And I have said before that even though smaller stature women are more likely to need intervention...each pregnancy is different. I believe the risks associated with c-section merit trying a vaginal birth first. I know it could mean a prolonged labor ending in c-section but it could also mean a simple vaginal delivery.
