Changing Dr's

Ok ladies I am having Dr issues!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully someone can help? Here's the situation. I am high risk and I see a Maternal Fetal Medicine Dr. (high risk specialist) Anywho I have one 3 year old daughter that she also delivered. I was very happy with her during my pregnancy with my first daughter. After the birth of my daughter I started seeing a regular ob due to the fact that I felt her care wasn't needed any longer considering I wasn't pregnant anymore and I got an IUD so I knew it would be a few years before I wanted to concieve again. and the Dr was aware I was going to start seeing my regular ob again considering I wanted the iud and she didnt do that..........anyway since I first contacted her office about my current pregnany. I have had issues with this new receptionist of hers. Its gotten to the point where I just want to go off on the girl and change Dr.'s  BUT I don't want to have to change Dr's becuz of this horrible employee she has..........what do you ladies think??????????????

here are some examples I will try and make brief, of incidents:
When I first contacted her (the receptionist) telling her I was pg and wanted to come back to the office. She was like well she isnt accepting new patients blah blah allllllll rude. I told her I am not a new patient in some ways since she delivered my daughter can I just speak with her about this. Well she gave me hell about it then finally said the DR agreed to see me again.

Then there has been a few times I have called in with questions or concerns about pains or uncertainties and this chick wants to be rude like I am inconvienancing her and I need to call another regular family practice Dr about my problem????????????????????? LIKE SHE IS A NURSE OR SOMETHING AND EVEN KNOWS WHAT THE HECK SHE IS TALKING ABOUT.........
Then one day I called in about something the Dr agreed to work me in to make sure everything was ok. Well my DH and I go in and we're waiting for about an hour and the receptionist was like well she's in surgery but she should be here......ok so we're waiting and I explained to her that at this point it had been almost 2 hours and we had somewhere to be before they closed that was very important. If I could just come in another day? Well she went and told the Dr we were impatient and this and that and the Dr got upset with me that I was messing up her schedule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and she was gonna have to refer me to another Dr if I "cancelled" another appointment. EITHER WAY I PAID FOR THAT APPOINTMENT!
Just every time I call its like she is rude but yet she has no reason to be rude because I have never been rude with her aside from her unprofessionalism I still have kept my cool.
So last week I had a horrible incident at work I got very very ill and thought I was having contractions or something so MY BOSS HAD TO TAKE ME IN IMMEDIATELY TO SEE THE DR.............
So I go in and they run tests she tells me I shouldnt be concerned its most likely the flu but she ran the tests anyway.

Well my phone was broken and I was out from work the rest of the week so today I see the nurse had called me. So I called today and told the receptionist I need to speak with Cheryl the nurse. She says well she is out today. I said ok well is there another nurse there today, I can speak with that can tell me why they called. She says no there is no other nurse and I'm just the receptionist so I can't go over any of that with you. But I can take a message I said ok. Then she hangs up on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I called back and said you didn't take the message???????/ She said I know who this is! I said well you didnt take my number I have another number now. So she takes the number and that was that but I am MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What would you ladies do? I'm 26 weeks already and specialists are hard to get into!

wow!!!!!!!! yeah that must really suck not having many other options. I have an appointment on Sept. 4th and I will speak with the Dr. then. If the wench gives me any more problems I think I am going to set it off on her. She has no people skills and some nerve messing with a pregnant, crazy woman! lol she's lucky I work in a quite professional office and I don't want my co workers seeing that side of me or I would have already let her know that!

Thanks for all your help

I think that you should discuss this with the Dr. directly...If you are, for the most part, happy with the Dr.....and just not this wench, you should tell the MD.  First of all, I'm sure that she's treating others the same way....she should not be in a position to deal with the public if she can't be respectful of others.  Maybe the Dr. has no idea how rude and inconsiderate this woman is and would do something about if he/she knew.
There's no reason for this receptionist to treat you like that........You have concerns, as most of us do when we are pregnant....and especially give the fact that you are high risk.
I would call, ask to leave a message for the Dr. directly.  If this freak asks what it's pertaining to, tell her that it's a private matter....she has no right to pry any further than that.  There's a thing called patient-doctor confidentiality.....remind her of that.
If you don't get anywhere after talking to the Dr., then maybe think about changing.....
Sorry you are having to deal with this...I'm not pleased with my office either, as they treated me poorly in Dec. when I lost a pregnancy and still are far from helpful and sympathetic.....Unfortunately I live in a small area and there are only 2 other OBGYN's...niether of which are any better from what I hear!
Best luck and let us know how you make out.....

I would leave the doctor.  I know that other doctors are hard to get into but that is just horrible.  They dont even care about you and this is a crucial time in your life and you need someone that will respect you and make you feel comfortable and they are not doing that!  I hope you get this all worked out and everything goes well.
