Cervical length

Hi,

I had my cerclage done on 6/19. I had u/s for cervical length on 7/12, it measurerd 5 cm. I had u/s for fetal survey on 7/17 and cervical lenth was 3.6 cm. I am 17W 6 days as of today. Last year I lost my baby at 20w 3 days. I am worried if the same is repeating this time. Will cerclage help this time? I am not sure how it is going to help if my cervix shortens further.
Any information is highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah, I can imagine going a bit stir crazy on strict bedrest. It's nice that your inlaws are there to help, though...although I can also see that maybe adding a little extra stress...or is that just me? :-)

By the way, that's great that you get to work from home! I'm also lucky enough to do that, and I love it!

I never thought taking rest is so stressful :) My inlaws came last week to give some company and help my husband with household work. They will be with us till my delivery. Though i am on complete bed rest, i am able to work from home...work is helping me keep myself busy to some extent.

Oh man...that must be rough being on full bedrest...but if it will help you carry the baby longer, it's all worth it! Take it easy and make sure your DH/partner pampers you as much as possible!

I am on complete bedrest. Except for bathroom and showers on alternate day, I am lying on bed 24/7.

I'm sorry to hear that...Hopefully it won't thin too much until you're a little further along. Sounds like your doctor is keeping a close eye on you, though, so that's good! Also, I've heard that 24 weeks is the "magic" stage when the chance of survival starts increasing rapidly if the baby does happen to be born early. But hopefully that won't be an issue. So are you or will you have to be on bedrest at all? Or is 2.1 still considered OK for normal activities?

Hey....just wondering how things are going with you. I know this was posted quite a while ago, and I understand that you're worried about the cervix shortening further, but 3.6 is actually pretty good. If I remember correctly, my sonographer said they like to see anything over 3. I'm glad they got the cerclage in place, though, since you did have a loss last year.

Take care!
