Does HcG eventually drop a little and level off?

Hi I'm almost 11 weeks pregnant. My last apt with my RE was Monday and he has now released me to my regular OB. He did my blood work one last time yesterday and my hcg actually dropped from 89,000 to 69,000 but my progesterone went up from 36 to 48. I read somewhere that the hcg does drop some at end of first trimester but I'm worried cause I'm not sure if what I read Is true. Also he said I have a low placenta and that could be why I had some spotting. Placenta privia?  I thought Being almost through my first trimester I would relax a little but... Not so much!!!!!

From what I'm reading the peak is between 9 and 12 weeks then it starts to drop off.

what did your doc say about the numbers?
i remember that they drop off as the placenta takes over as well, but i don't remember where i read that...
try not to worry...
my RE graduated us at 8 weeks, so i have to wait until next week for my first midwife appt....
