Hi. This is my first time posting something on a forum, so I'm pretty new to this. I'm currently 21 w 2 d pregnant, but at 20 w I was diagnosed with incompetent cervix. I am too far along to get the cerclage. So the doctors are saying that I could deliver anyday now at home. I'm on bedrest and dialated 4cm. Is there anyone out there who has had a situation similar to mine, but there baby made it? This is my first pregnancy. I've heard and read about the unsuccessful stories, but I need a little glimer of hope. Thank u

I knew a lady who gave birth at home at 25 weeks.  The baby made it and had to spend some time in the hospital, but otherwise was fine.
You are in my prayers.

At connorethans mom, no they haven't given me steroids for the babies developement. They told me if I make it to 23 weeks, then they will start doing that. So I have a couple more weeks to go. I have to go to the doc every week to see if I've dialated more. Hopefully not! Thank u both for your quick responses. I'm praying constantly for my baby to hold on.

I have heard of many pregnancy's with this cervix issue. Unfortunatly I dont personaly know any persons close to me that have made it past the first trimester.

I am so sorry about what you are going through.. I really hope both you and baby last much longer than just 20+ weeks with out any complications. Bed rest should be good for both of you. Much luck, many blessings and hugs to you and baby!!

I'm sorry to hear you are going through this.  Why are you not in the hospital?  Have they given you steriods at all to help the baby's lungs develop?  I have several friends that delivered at 25 weeks and have healthy babies now.   One that delivered at had previous early deliveries and they were expecting the baby to come early.  The other one had no warning at all.  Are you close to a good hospital with a NICU that can handle a baby that early?

On a seperate note, no one really knows for sure when things are going to happen.  I was at 3-4cm and 80% effaced for over three weeks and then was induced.  I was told several times, the baby should be here by now, she'll come tonight with contractions like this, only to wait, and wait!
