I'm SO happy to say that MYRA finally arrived Monday morning @ 4:16am.
The story is quite rediculous but willing to talk about it, just glad everything is over and she's healthy.
2-14-09: Saturday night (Valentine's Day) I had my parent's come down for dinner. We had steak, steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes...after eatting the califlower and broccoli, I started getting these really weird cramps. Just thought it was gas, so I went to bed. I woke up about 2:30 that morning and didn't feel like myself. But not really contracting, just these weird cramps. I walked around until I got tired and laid back down for awhile.
2-15-09: The next morning, the cramping was really getting to me and just KNEW something was happening. Throughout the whole day, they were all in my hips, and bottom area. They just started to increase and got closer together. About 5:30pm, my Sister-in-law came over as I was brushing my teeth. I couldn't get to the dorr because these were hurting, but only 10-12 minutes apart still. But I KNEW the doctor told me that I could get fairly quick. Even though the Thursday before I was 1cm and VERY long!!
We got down to the hospital about 7:00pm and they hooked me up to the monitor. I was contracting every 5 minutes, but only feeling then 10-12 minutes. The nurse checked my cervix and I was 2cm and VERY long still. She had me walk around for 2 hours and got checked again. The contractions were about every 5 minutes after she checked me, I was 2 1/2-3cm but still long...SO seeing that we lived 40 minutes away, SHE STILL SENT ME HOME! While I was getting dressed to leave. They were every 5 minutes, RIGHT ON TIME and couldn't focus to breathe through them. We still ended up leaving the hospital. Got about 1/2 way home and I yelled, "GO BACK!!!!!!!"~ They were every 2-3 minutes. At this time it was about 11pm and we called back before we just walked in the floor and having them just look at us stupid...they said to come back, we'd get checked again and if theres anychange, she'll keep me.
Once we got there and had my cervix checked, I was a stretchy 3-4cm, but long....So I'm dilating just fine, why wasn't I effacing?? She had me walk around another 2 hours. But we actually sat in the waiting room and watched TV, then the last hour I walked to bring the baby down more. Once my 2 hours were up, she checked me and I was a good 5- 51/2!!! THANK GOD~
2-16-09: So it was about 1am by this time (I can't really remember much)...I told the nurse once I KNEW they admitted me, that I WANTED THE EPIDURAL....it wasn't really that bad, but I didn't want to get to that point. So the nurses poked me 3 times in my arm, even thought I have nice "AC" veins, they didn't want to set the IV there. It took them over a hour and a half to just give up and put the IV in my AC vein. The contractions at that point were SO bad...they called my doctor and Epidural man (can't spell the other name for him...LOL) because I went from 5-7 1/2 in a hour. My doctor came in, checked me and ended up breaking my water for me. He told me that I have about a hour of this pain left and he really things I'd do good without the epidural. This nurse I had the whole night kept telling me the same thing, but I really didn't believe her. He kept telling me that woman who are 7-8 cm NEVER have smiles on their faces inbetween contractions. I'm not sure if it's my personality or what, but I always do...LOL The guy came in the set my epidural and I ended up sending him away! LOL My doctor literally laughed and could believe I did that. After waiting for that guy for almost a hour, I sent him away. LOL Oh well....but let me tell you, I thought I made the WORST mistake of my life because those contractions got BAD! I got up on the bed (can't really remember why), the nurse told me to try to pee before I have the baby and maybe sitting on the toilet would bring her down more. Well, I couldn't even get in the itting position because I felt something there, but wasn't having that pushing feeling. So I didn't think it was the BABY!! Some how I got the strength to get up out of bed, go to the toilet and just as I sat down, I felt the head. I yelled, "She's COMING OUT!" We ran back to the bed, my doctor was already dressed and ready (so he knew before me that something was happening), I got up on the bed and asked, "Are you going to check me!?" He said, "It's right there!!" OMG so here I was, no meds, thinking this baby was going to be a 9 pounder and freaking myself out. I did ONE little push and she came out! I pulled her on my chest @ 4:16 in the morning and couldn't believe her size. I asked him if there was another!! I'm serious....she was SO tiny...I tore really bad (sideways)...
When they got done stitching me up, they took her out to get weighed. My husband thought a light 8 pounds and the doctor said 8lbs 7oz...they came back with the pictures...OMG 7lbs 13oz and 20" long??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!?? So we're not sure what happened there, but for me, I was happy because I didn't kill myself over delivery! :)
But that's my story from what I can remember. Couldn't believe that my fear of having the baby in a car was coming true....but just glad she's out, healthy and safe!!
She's obviously breastfed...did it with all my kids. Now I know why I didn't gain but 15 pounds with this pregnancy :)
