I have for boys : Gunner, Harmon
and girl would be Zephyr Phoenix
Leighton is an actress's name from Gossip Girl.
I like the name Wade for a middle name. I would have used it for a boy, but hubby didn't care for it much.
Nicholas Wade
Isn't there a girl called Leighton in One Tree Hill?
For the record, I think that it is a very pretty name..
What about-
Nicholas Scott

I could keep going if you like?
i had mentioned Addison, when we were still having twins, we wanted to name them Aidyn and Addison, now that its one, were going with Aidyn and Kindyl
Good luck, i havent heard Leighton before. recently i seen someone names Karrington, i thought that was really cute. Either way, you still have a few months before you need to really narrow it down!!
let us know what you pick!!
Just saw on tv a girl named Leighton and was just wondering what anyone else thought of that????? I have never heard of it and I am desperately trying not to pick a popular name and avoid the repeat of my sons birth even though I still to this day love his name and wouldn't change it, I am afraid his entire class is going to be filled with Aiden Holden and Hayden's of all spelling variations.
Can't seem to totally write of the name Aubry either - i loved Addison (can't remember who first posted that)but a friend said it is too close to my sons name Aiden and now I can't think of it any other way for now.
To Momofthree... luckily lots can go with Nicholas however I am definately in favor of Cole and more than likely people will end up calling the child whatever you do (tip from my mom) I was worried at first because I loved Gabrielle but was not a fan of the nicknames Gabby or Abby ect although I do love Bri for short and that is when my mom chimed in with her advice. So unless you do plan on shortening his name to Nick I wouldn't worry to much.
I have decided on the names so far and seems like everything I pck, my husband doesn't want to put his input into it.
So I guess we've decided on Nicholas for a boy
and
Jade Alane Paisley for a girl
If anyone could help me, I'm still trying to figure out what middle name would work for Nicholas. I thought Cole, but if someone calls him Nick Cole that would just be weird. lol
My younger sister decided not to name her latest baby till she saw him. She went for a week with no name - she and her hubby couldn't think of anything that fit. Then the baby's older brother and cousin walked into the room and told Kat, my sister, "the baby's name is Duncan".
Funny thing is she called me just after baby was born to tell me all was fine. Told me no name yet... after hanging up I was thinking of names and Duncan hit me. So what a fluke later when his brother and cousin named him that very same name a week later.
Guess that boy really is a Duncan! Names are very important.
I've named all my pets by looking at them and seeing what fits. I suppose it shouldn't be too different for a baby...
:)
Just make sure you make a top 5 list for boys and for girls together...
Then you can just choose the one that fits the baby. I have known other people that wanted to pick a name after they 'met' their bub, and then they couldn't agree on any names.
I am going to include Michael or Michaela in the baby's name - but not as a first name. In honor of my Dad, who died two years ago. But I think I'll wait till the baby is born before I name it. I want to see what he/she looks like and what fits....
I love Tyler but all of the Tylers I teach are naughty so I daren't use it.
I'm sure I read on here months ago that you can convince hubby by saying the name to him everyday so he gets use to it because I think it's just the unfamilar they don't like.
It's worked for Estelle and now I'm working on Kalen.
If we have two boys I will say we get to choose a name each and that way I can win :))
Our favorites are (in order)
Boy - Keygan, Ronan, Tyler
Girl - Victoria, Teigan, Olivia
We're pretty stuck on our first choices, and have the backups just in case we see our little one and decide that the name doesn't suit the face.
i know what you mean, Aidyn is the only name he would agree to for a boy, i had choosen it but then started saying other ones because it is really popular but he has said no to every other boy name.
the same with Kindyl, luckly its not as popular, you dont hear it too much so it works. they are so stubborn and hard headed.
I like Corben and Asher from your list.
I suppose Alfie IS popular in the UK, as you're the third person to post it on this board, and I've not heard of it here in the US as being popular!
Must be the same way Aiden is so popular in the US! :-)
Our hubbies can be the worst when it comes to naming our kids. Honestly, I think that the woman should have the last say when it comes to the name. After all, we've EARNED that right by the time we carry the thing and then go through the pain of giving birth. Not to mention our bodies will never be the same and we have to lose all the baby weight afterward. Men...they have no idea do they? LOL
i forgot to add the other names i like...
i really wanted to name my son Talan but my hubby likes Aidyn better... i love Deagan/Teagan too for a boy, Wyatt
girls names...Addison (hubby didnt like it either) Korbyn, Taryn
i just noticed, all of them end with an N.....i wonder what that says about me
Hey Ladies...
we have our names set, now its just a matter of finding out what it is going to be...
Boy - Aidyn Denen
Girl - Kindyl Ellé
i made the middle names from our parents middle names. Denen is from DENnis and stephEN. and Ellé is from ELLEn and michELLE but were going to pronouce it Ella.
we so impatient!! im tired of waiting, and ive still got like 3 to 4 weeks before we find out. i was thinking about going early (16 weeks) but i know that unless i go through my Dr. ill have to pay out of pocket and most places are so expensive. i dont pay for them with my Dr. rrrrrrrrr...i wanna know what is in there!!
Hope you don't mind me joining in because they haven't done this in the January forum yet.
I am really struggling to get hubby to agree to anything that hasn't already been used a million times before. I don't want our babies to have ridiculous names but I want them to be the only one in their class with that name because I have four sophies in one of my classes at school and I'm sure I got them mixed up in their reports :((
Anyway I wanted Luca but everyone always says there is some song about child abuse with the name Luca in it.
When I thought they were girls I wanted Krista and Korah but everyone HATES Krista :((
I finally got hubby to agree to Estelle but I don't know if i'm having a girl yet. I know one is a boy and so far we had Oskar and Alfie but in the UK Alfie is in the top ten names so there will be tonnes of them as is Archie....I find this really hard.
Here are some boys names that hubby has rejected on account of them being 'too trendy' whatever that means
Kalen
Elias
Herbie
Asher
Kofi
Cody
Travis
Corben
we like lilly for a girl and alfie for a boy
Hope to find out what the sex is on the 27th (if baby cooperates).
Boy's names: I love the name Wade, but dh didn't like it. Wade Thomas or Daniel Wade were my top choices.
We finally decided on Evan James.
Evans was my mother's maiden name, so we're using that and taking the "s" off. James is my dh's grandfather's middle name.
As for a girl, we're using the name I picked out before I ever met dh. Lily Anna. (not calling her by both names...Lily is the first name, Anna is the middle name, although I think it sounds nice either way. I'm just afraid that people will call her Lily AHNA (making it rhyme with Donna) instead of ANNA (as in the word banana).
Girls, I like Alexandra.....hubby likes Hailey and Emily
Boy, I like Austin, hubby's mind is set that we are having a girl, so he hasnt really thought about boy names yet...lol
We're having a boy as you all know! Caiden James! :)
i like the name okley and brighten for a girl hubbie hates both, but we like jaycee
and well a boy lets just hope we don't have one we are at a true lack of boy names we named our first son at the hospitable boy names are hard for us although we love our boy and would love another,, he just won't have a name ha ha ha
We are waiting to find out the sex to seriously start considering any names. but as of now we have pretty much none that we like. like, zero. oh well im pretty sure we'll get more into it when we know for sure what we're having
