wow thanks for your comments ladies! its not been so bad this weekend but ill get some of those strips out of interest more than anything, ive had tests done and im all clear on the infections side of things its just the mucus plug i was worrying about but if so many of you are having the same thing then i wont worry myself thanks for looking it up for me. yeah and ive also noticed that walking or exersize does make me a bit stinky SARgirl your not on your own there! cheers all off to buy some panty liners
P.s. (sorry just one more)
If you have had intercourse the dr. did warn me that it could turn the strip blue for something like 12 hours later- I guess semen can make your "environment" basic for a little bit too.
SO don't panic if you do try this, and you wind up with a blue strip the next morning after doin the deed!
I'm going to test my sweat, lotion, deodorant, spit and other stuff commonly found on the fingers or area and see what affect these might have on the strips (for accuracy for anyone interested in trying these at home) and report back to you guys on if other things give false positives.. (Because I am on bedrest, and bored- and I need a project! :)
Update guys- I was just talking to the DH about this post- and he told me that you can get the same roll (probably cheaper though!) of Nitrazine papers I got at L&D at the PET STORE if you are interested in home testing of wet nickers (for fun, curiosity, or concern)- fish lovers use it for testing the ph level of aquariums.
Vaginal secretions are acidic 5.0-6.0, amniotic fluid is basic 6.5- 7.5....
I'm not saying to use this in place of a call to your dr- because they also do other tests to confirm- but If you are curious and would like to try at home or have in case of late night leakage- that is where my dh (and my doc said you can get them over the counter too) said you can obtain them.
If its enough to soak your nickers 2-3 X's a day WITH mucus- give your Ob a call and ask what he would prefer you to do.
Don't feel stupid, or embarrassed! Your certainly not the first pregnant women with alot of discharge! :)
They might want to check it out- the test is really simple (they can even use wet nickers that you brought in if that makes you more comfortable), and the dr can even give you some testing papers to take home if it winds up negative so that you can check whenever you have "questionable" wetness- because they get this ALL the time-- but usually they like to check even if you are a little skeptical.
I myself have a bunch of Nitrazine (i think thats what they are called) papers sent home from the doc when I was discharged from L&D last week. I just press it to either my wet spot on my panties or if there is a trickle on my leg or something and see if it turns blue- you can even buy these at some stores if you are interested! they are essentially PH papers the doc said- if I ran out from overzealous testing!
Yeah, I am 23 weeks tomorrow...and I am getting the same exact thing!! It is normal...
The same thing..it is white snotty looking, and when you look back in the toilet there is a cloudy splat that came from up there as well....
I just had a pap smear, and tests done...everything is completely normal...no yeast infections or anything...just another lovely part of the baby baking process....
Your normal!!
I hate is after I go for my walk and go to the gym..I have this raunchy smell..I think the sweat intensifies it all!! Yeah...
go to the dr just to cheack but all the way through my pregnany iv been getting discharge its sorta lick snot but not green (gross lol sorry) but i went to the dr and they cheacked me i was all ok just normal discharge x
yeha when i read my week by week pregnancy update, it talks about the fact that your discharge can become increased by now and that we might even need to wear panty liners on a daily basis.
when is you next appt? just for peace of mind you can ask the doctor.
It is probably cervical mucous and completely normal. BUT- It might be your amniotic fluid slowly leaking out. If you have any doubts about what it is, call your doctor.
