Ive been getting the braxton hicks a lot more lately. it happens to me after an orgasm and if i get up from bed, seems like when i use the muscles they clench up, ya know? but they dont hurt me, they just feel so tight and like i cant stretch out all the way!! just uncomfortable and strange instead of hurt. thank God. it makes me so scared for the actual contractions, cuz if it gets this tense and tight in my stomach NOW, i know its going to be like....100 million times worse during labor. aghh.
Lil lady I think we have ligament stretching through the end of pregnancy :/ oh joy right? ;). I know I still get it and it feels like I broke my vagina :P
i have had a few bh. i notice that it happens when i start doing to much. so when i feel one i sit down and take it easy the rest of the day.
My bh are very crampy where I will feel quite a bit of pain.... They are starting to make me nervous.... I will be talking to my ob about it at my appt in two weeks
Braxton hicks feel like a tightening of the stomach. THey aren't very painful but they are uncomfortable. If you put your hand on your tummy the tightening is all over. It sounds like yours lil_lady are ligament stretching. That can be really painful but it's more sharp and in a specific location. That's my experience anyway and this is my 3rd pregnancy.
I dont know if I have ever gotten Braxton Hicks.....? Are they sharp cramps? I had terrible cramping last Tueday whenever I would get up and walk around. I would sit down and the pain would subside a bit. I called the doc and they said to go to the Emergency room. I called my High Risk doctor and they said it was probably just ligament stretching. Is there still stretching at 23-24 weeks along? I just sucked it up and finished working and went home and napped afterwards. Seems to have gone away. What do BH feel like?
Thanks. I was worrying because of the SCH and I was starting to freak about preterm labour. They have settled down a bit and I'm feeling "normal" once again.
This is my third also and I have been getting them crazy.... I counted the one day and I got 12 and they are very crampy
Ditto to what Sun said. I talked with my OB at my last appointment and she said to drink more water. Not uncommon at this point as long as frequency doesn't increase.
I get them sometimes. I'm 22.5 weeks and I've had it for the last few weeks but not usually more than one or two a day. They say it can be a sign you aren't drinking enough water so every time you feel one you are supposed to drink a full glass of water. Also constipation can cause them and UTI among other things. And yes more than 4 an hour and call the dr.
