tracy21 5 hours I am so jealous was that start to finish. With my son I went almost 26 hours and with my daughter I went about 28 hours. I personally think do what is the best for you.
Sunworshipper gosh your back sounds terrible. My back is stuffed but my only excuse is pregnancy. I seriously don't know what has gone wrong. When I was pregnant with my daughte I went to the chiropractor and I think he stuffed it more. On either side of my spine right up my back is painful unless I am sitting down. I was thinking maybe my pelvis was all out because when I had my first child I went to a chiropractor and she said one foot was significantly longer than the other because my pelvis was out but she fixed it and then with my second pregnancy I went to another chiropractor and I think he stuffed it. Do you think I am right about my back. I'm only 8 weeks pregnant and I'm aleady getting th pains running down my leg. The only good thing is after 16 weeks I can go physio fo freee so bring on that!!!
I'm with lil_lady, DRUG ME!!! I have 2 spinal fractures and a pelvic fracture currently as well as a rare genetic spinal arthritic condition which is making the vertebra fuse in my spine so an epidural sounds heavenly and I wish I could have one the entire pregnancy. :P my cousin did unmefmdicated I was there for it pretty neat to see but you don't win any awards for that ;)
It's my first.
I plan to have gas available, but not sure about any other pain relief. I want to be able to move around, use the shower and the ball etc. so epidural may be out. I still have some time to decide.
I already know that I want minimal intervention as far as breaking my waters or any other kind of inducement goes. A girlfriend who has had four births, all different, has said she'll be my doula, so at least there wll be someone present who is on mine & DH's side! She's no wallflower, so won't be afraid to ask why they want to do something to me.
I am the same as you GBen. This is my fourth pregnancy. I have a boy 3 and a girl that is 15 months. In april I miscarried a little boy at 14 weeks. I am now almost 8 weeks pregnant and looking foward to delivering a healthy baby.
I will have th give the birthing ball a go. I just need to get to the hospital with a but more time. With my daughter I laboured at home all night and day and we got to the hospital she was born basically straight away. I must say with my experience they come out faster second time round so my goal is to get to hospital about an hour before I give birth so I am not rushing lol
hi im not meant to be in this forum im waiting for march 2011 to start lol but i thought i would have a wee noisey into this forum. im pregnant with my 4th child. and can i just say i love the birthing ball i tried it with my 3rd child and wish i ahd it with my first 2 kids it was amzing so relaxing and i was in labor 5 hours compared to my 12 hours with my other kids.
This is my fourth pregnancy and I have 2 healthy little boys. One just turned 3 and the other is 18 months. My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 12 weeks. I am hoping that this is a successful pregnancy and praying that the baby is healthy.
lol I understand where you are coming from :) especially with twins!!!! I think labour is awesome as painful as it is because you get something or somethings so precious at the end of it.
This is technically my third pregnancy due to 2 prior m/c. I have yet to experience labour and cant wait! I will probably just do the routine hospital birth with lots of pain meds. I know it's taking the easy way out but I think I deserve an easy route for once after what i've been through.
Hey
I found the waterbirth awesome. I didn't have any pain relief with either of my pregnancies but labouring in water does subside the pain a little bit. I would also recommend on your knees with the shower running on your back, I did that with my daughter and that was awesoome as well
This is my second pregnancy but g-d willing first live birth. Had one previous m/c. A water birth sounds so wonderful!
