Period while breastfeeding

I have my six week check up tomorrow and plan to talk to my OB, but I'm pretty sure I started my period this weekend. Isn't that early? Especially while breastfeeding? Everything I read online is all over the place... 6 weeks, 12 months. Doesn't seem to be a "rule" so to speak, so I thought I'd ask.

OB said after exam she thinks it's just residual from c-section. She also said it would be in my very best interest to wait a minimum of one year before doing FET. Because we have embryos, the age of my eggs isn't an issue. She feels strongly that being pregnant again this year could lead to potential high risks that I didn't encounter this past time. So.... I'm going to start taking progesterone since I can't take birth control pills. Just in case.

I think everyone is different.  With my first two pregnancies I didn't get my first period till my children were about 5-6 months old.  My friend didn't get hers for about a year and a half while my other friend got hers straight away.  I guess gettingyour af could be a blessing but I am happy for mine to stay away lol, my hubby is booked in for a vasectomy on the 28th april so a few months will be great for me :)

Sounds like you may be one of the unlucky ones but hey after fertility treatment we are more fertile even after giving birth!!  So maybe...

We aren't preventing. While I don't like AF I wouldn't mind another little blessing so I'm going to leave it in G-ds hands :). Maybe your have AF so you can be blessed?

Yes, I've read that, too, but I usually wake halfway through to pump so I thought I would avoid starting so soon.  O well...

Some people do get their period back right away others don't. Often times your period returns when baby starts sleeping through the night which is 6 hours. This would be consistent with what Annabelle is doing.
