c section options

So we're talking about a possible c section since babys still breech at 36+4 and I've heard some horror stories on back pain after getting an epidural. Not a huge fan even if it's a natural birth. So I'm wondering if you could get something other than that to take care of pain but not knock you out?? Ftm and I know nothing about c sections!!

I had a csection with my son and I didn't have an lasting affects with an epidural. I think they do a spinal block also but I'm not sure. I'm due to have a csection with baby #2 in about 3 weeks.

I think under normal circumstances they do a spinal block for csection. I labored for 12 hours with my 2nd and then her heart rate dropped extremely low with every push. I already had the epidural in so they just used that for the emergency csection. This time I'll have the spinal and actually am looking forward to it. They say it's more comfortable than the epidural. I've had 2 epidurals in the past and both were fine and neither left me with back pain. The csection recovery does take longer but for me it wasn't too bad. Just make sure you have some help around the house the first several days. Good luck!

I personally, loved my epidural. I've had no side effects, short or long term.
However, you could ask about spinal blocks though. But I think it's the same method of delivery just a different drug.

Anyone else have a c section that opted to have something done other than an epidural?

Yes I know this but I'd like to at least know something about it just incase that's what we have to do! I've actually been doing the spinning babies positions with no luck the past week and a half so trying to do a little research from girls that may know and can give me some info.
