Advice

I'm 18, and just found out two days ago that I'm about a month pregnant. I graduate high school this Thursday, and today I am planning on telling both my biological mom and adopted mom. And advice?

Hi there! Congratulations on the pregnancy! It can be a tough time now that you're out of school and trying to figure out where to go with your life. One piece of advice I have is to get some more schooling done while you're pregnant and while the baby is young! My daughter is a little over 1 year and I have been going to school through a community college during my pregnancy with her and I'm still going. It's hard, but many schools even have 6 or 9 months degrees. It is incredibly helpful to have some sort of education so you can afford to support yourself and the baby. Also, as exhausting as the first few months are, they are the easiest months to do schooling. As they get older they need so much more attention and interaction other than just diapers and feedings.
Best of luck to you and the baby!

It will be hard news for them to take but it will all be worth it. God has a plan. As a mother I know I would be disappointed, angry and sad if my son shared such news with me at your age but I would rather know. I would try to work through my feelings and grieve all that needs to be grieved and then try to be supportive without enabling. It's hard for parents to accept such news but eventually we come around. Best wishes
