yesterday was NOT a good day

Yesterday was my 37 week appt.  All started normal, the usual weight, measure of my belly blah blah blah.  Then my blood pressure comes up high : ( and the babys heart rate is a bit lower then usual.  So I was sent to L & D for a non stress test.  The test showed baby was doing great but I was having some seriouse, consistant contarctions and not even knowing it.  So they wanted to check my cervix for dialation, and it didnt make sense for the contractions I was having apparently so next the did a pelvic : ( At this point im freaked out because the doc (not my reg doc) steps out and brings in two other doctors because my cervix looks "different" then any hes seen and keeps asking me if ive ever had surgery down there.  Apparently my cervix is not normal and no doc has ever mentioned it to me before.  Well as can be expected after they stuck every tool in the room up there checking things out I started bleeding.  It was such a stressful day... so then hes concerend about how much im bleeding from the exam and does an ultra sound to check my placenta.  After about an hour of people poking in and out of the room running tests we were told I was being admitted and would be staying over night .  It really sucked! No one had a real answer as to why the exam made me bleed so much, they thought my lack of dialation with the contractions had to do with my different cervix, so i had to be hooked to monitors all night and wasnt allowed to get out of bed.  At 4 this morning I started getting sick and having diareah, they said that can be a sighn that labour is coming, but finaly my contractions started to taper off.  My reg doctor checked me out this morning since the bleeding had stoped he let me come home but with lots of restrictions and I now have to so NST every 3 days and have another us on tuesday.  It was the worst day ever!!!  And now im all kinds of worried but he thinks close monitoring is good enough.  I asked him why they couldnt just induce me now or do a c section since im 37 weeks to avoid more complications and his answer was simply that hes gonna keep a close watch and everything will be fine.  On tuesday I have a us then a doc appt then another NST, I have a different doc on tuesday, one I really like so im gonna try and talk to him about other options besides just sitting here watching and waiting to see if something happens.  Im so upset today, and so tired I really hope no one else on here has to have a reg doc appt turn into the nightmare I had yesterday

I really hate that they are making you wait. Im glad that everything is going better, but with all of those stressful issues it does seem like it would save everyone a lot of heartache to induce you, but I am sure that the doctor is doing what he thinks is best for you and baby. Maybe you could ask for a biophysical profile, because I think that they can use that to see if it would be okay to induce you....

I hope that you get some better answers on Tuesday, and let us know how you are doing!  Hang in there, not too far....

Hang in there!  Keep focus on that your baby will be here soon, in your arms!

That just stinks.  I am sorry you had to endure that.

What a terrible experience! You must have been so scared! Did they find anything wrong with your cervix or give you any results to the tests they were doing on your cervix? That is crazy that they put you through that without any real explanation!!  Glad you will be seeing another doctor that might be able to put things in perspective!  On the brighter side though, you are 37 weeks (just like me), and it's not much further now! We are almost there!!  :)
