Well, work has been hectic so, I haven't really been on here much. Although I have internet and computer at home, I work with computers all day so not really thrilled to be sitting on one in the afternoon. Anyway, here is a little update.
My baby shower is set for October 10th. It will be at work (I work at a university) which works great for me since alot of the people that I know are work related. And ALL of my family lives out of state.
Now medically, as most of you know, I have a low-lying placenta which was found at my 20 (August 25th) week visit. I had a US at 24 (Sep 18th) weeks and am scheduled for another one at 28 (October 20th) weeks. My 24 week ultrasound shows no movement, so I have my fingers crossed that this next one is showing that we've moved at least a little.
I am still having alot of pelvic pressure, but my back pain is gone. I account this to the prenatal chiropractor that I have been seeing 2-3 times a week. The pelvic pressure is called SPD and really isn't treatable, other than managing symptoms. Mainly the pain is what is getting to me.
I have been a little depressed lately. I am sure this is the pain. I finished a mini-marathon (13.1 miles) in April and right now I can't walk 10 feet to a bathroom without hurting so bad that I feel like curling into the fetal position. Rolling over in bed is a task that takes delicacy, but still hurts no matter what I do. Climbing stairs is almost impossible now so I have taken to sleeping in my 10 year old DD's bed so I don't have to go downstairs to our room to sleep (I would say poor hubby, but I think he is enjoying having the entire bed to himself). I can't stand for any length of time either. My DH has hired someone to come and clean the house twice a week, but the cleaning is just superficial. I am still getting clutter piling up. Which normally I am a very tedious person, so I think this may be contributing to the depression as well.
I am very happy to be pregnant, just upset that I am not as mobile and able to do things when I want to. I haven't been able to do much shopping for the baby lately nor have I been able to do any arranging in the baby's room.
On top of all that, I am scared that if the placenta doesn't move that I'll have to have a C-Section or worse be put on bedrest. I really would like a natural childbirth this time around. On the plus side, hubby and I have decided to hire a doula. So, I've been looking around for one.
