It's A Boy! Update!

Well, I was hoping for a little girl, but I've got my third boy on his way. He is very healthy from what the Dr. said. He's also very long according to his bone measurements! His little foot is already an inch and a half long. He's going to be tall like his Daddy. His h/b was 146 and he weighs 12oz so far. He wouldn't let us see his face until the very end, but he is so cute! I have a placental lake, which the doctor didn't seem too worried about, just to come in on the 31st of October to keep an eye on it.

i at first thought he said a placental LEAK...i had to ask again b/c i never heard of it either. he said is not 'proven' but can sometimes lead to smaller babies, but from all the measurements i got today, i think he'll be a big boy!

Interesting, here is what I found:

There have been one or two cases reported where very large placental lakes were thought to be associated with poor placental function but it is now known that almost all placentas have one or more lakes by the third trimester; they don't seem to affect the baby in any way.

Guess they just want to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get bigger. At least you get another peak of the little one... :)

Yeah! I'm going to have to look up the placental lake though. That is a new one on me. But as long as he wasn't worried, that is always good.
