I am so sorry your shower did not turn out as you planned.  We recently moved and do not even have friends to invite for a baby shower.  But we have lots of friends all of the US and Canada.  So, we registered anyways and our friends and family are eager to send us presents.  Make sure that you register for important stuff that you need and let people know that you are registered.  That way they can make up by helping you out.  Baby gear is expensive and I am sure that your out of town friends will be willing to help out.

We had invited 45 people, asked for regrets only. 10 people said they couldnt make it...

Only 3 showed.. People S U C K sometimes..  I posted in the 18-34 forum with some of the NICE things I did get.. I guess I should just be thankful I got a shower!

LOLA- don't feel behind. We just did it earlier b.c I live on an island and almost everyone I know is too busy and away A LOT over the holiday season. That's why we did it early. Plus,  I have been having some minor complications so I wanted to have it sooner rather than later! =)    Dec. is totally on target!

Aw.... Im really sorry : (  I have a feeling mine is going to turn out the same way, because now people that said they were coming are backing out left and right.  Im just mad because my mom didnt let me invite many of my friends from work because we have so much family that said they were coming and now less then a week ahead of time there saying they cant.  People are butts!  Im mad because of all the work my mom and sister have put into making me a really nice shower and making lil gifts for the 40 people that had rsvp a few weeks ago, i think there down to like half that now.

I am so sorry to hear that!!  Perhaps you can have a small get together closer to time or close friends and family, so that you can have something to look back on and enjoy....? We love you and wish you a happy baby shower!!

Mine was yesterday and it was a bust. No one was around b/c of holiday weekend.. Oh well..   =(

wow i feel a little behind..lol..mine is scheduled for dec 6th.i wanted it to be close to my due date but not too close that thered be a chance of missing it..lol..i am due jan 21st so its about  7 weeks prior.it also happens to be my birthday which is exciting for me cause i havent had a birthday party in god knows how many years.lol...i will have guys and girls there as well because honestly i dont have many friends or family but my boyfriends got many...also it is after thanksgiving but still far enough away from xmas..i hope all goes well for everyones...

we ended up moving it to oct.18th so im getting excited, its next weekend!!!  DH and I were hoping to have her room painted by then so we could just put all the stuff in there, but as time seems to keep moving faster and faster these days it wont be dont by then  : ( on the up side.... we at least have her room all cleaned out now.

I am due on Jan. 1st so my family is having my shower on Nov. 1st!!!! :)
That way I am still really pregnant but not miserable yet.......well hopefully!

Mine is Saturday, Oct. 11. My sister DID end up planning it on the ONLY weekend I asked her not to... Uggh..

It is looking like not very many can come. I will post an update in Sunday.

The last shower I was at, we had to cut a piece of ribbon to the size that we thought would fit around the mommy to be's baby belly .  Some of us were very gracious and cut small pieces but some played to win!  it was fun!  The person who measured the closet won a prize.  

Another one involved frozen tiny oaper cups of ice with a very tiny baby rattle frozen in the middle. The first person to get their rattle out won a prize.  You could use any method but you couldn't use a microwave  to melt the ice.  I sat mine in the window in the sun.  I didn't win ): This shower, however, was in the middle of summer, so the ice in your hand felt good.

I was thinking the week of Oct. 6th or the week of Nov. 3rd. I was thinking of a shower with love theme. There could be drinks with little umbrellas in them. I found some shower invitations with a baby sitting on a cloud holding an umbrella with little hearts raining down. Very cute... Not sure about what kinds of games or prizes though. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

My showers are all in October.  Since I live in MD, one will be here.  The next on is in NJ, where my family is from and the third one will be in PA, where DH's family is from.  I decided to have them in October, before the holiday season starts and before the start of my 3rd trimester.  I don't want to travel then.  The one in MD is going to be given by my friends, whom based on their schedules, could all only make it the first Sunday in October.

I am due the end of January.

Mine was planned for oct 25th until i pointed out to my sister whos planing it that my wed ann is the 27th so we plan to geo away that weekend.  Now I think shes planning to have it on oct.4th.  Im kinda glad shes gonna do it early so people arent pressed trying to get christmas gifts together and what not.

I know that one will be Nov 1st, but I'm not sure when the others will be. My mom, along with highschool and college friends, live in Atlanta & they are wanting to give me one. DH's family and my new friends here in TX are giving me one. Those will probably be some time around the beginning of December.

Mine will probably be at a local sportsbar. Men are invited as well, and I find if there is a bar and sports, they don't notice the baby shower so much! =)

Mine is Oct 18th with a Fall theme (baby pumpkins ect. My cousin is planning it.  She did my last one it was an underwater ocean theme, she very good at organizing cool parties So I am sure it will be a smash, guys are allowed to come and I hope they do but they get weirded out about this kind of thing and think it just for women.  Sept we will find out the sex and put it on our invitation so we get the correct stuff:)

well my friends kept asking me when they should plan it for. We made it approx. 8 week before the baby is due.  Now they are wanting me to pick a nursery theme...lol.
