has this happened to anyone w/ a doppler?

I'm 18 weeks and 6 days w/ a girl. My U/S last week was perfect and baby seemed just fine. Like so many of us here, I have been through HELL getting pregnant and staying pregnant, so I'm a bit on the cautious side. I use my doppler 3-4 times a day to ease my mind and it has been working, until now. Yesterday I was listening to the baby's HB and it was in the 150s like it usualy is. Then all of the sudden it started to slow down. It didn't fade, but it slowed down, and it got so slow it was slower than my own HB. I thought it was going to stop and I was going to hear my baby die. Then it jumped up to 160s and dropped to 140s then went back to 150s where it stayed. I had a Dr apt a few hours later so I asked her about it and she was not worried at all. She said baby is healthy and nothing showed up on the U/S. I asked about the cord and she said the baby has plenty of room right now so there is no way the cord could be getting pinched. She said the baby was probly sleeping or rolled over or something. But it was awful slow even for a sleeping baby, and if she had rolled over it would have faded. It never faded, it stayed just as loud, only slowing down to almost a complete stop.Well, this morning while I was listening it happened again. This time it started off at 150s slowed down, the jumped right back to 150s and started slowing down again, then jumped back up again. Has anyone else experienced this?

What you may have experienced is the baby moving away so the dopplar can't pic up the sound.  With both my pregnancies this has happened!

i've heard of a baby grabbing the cord and holding onto it until he/she passed out but that is really my only advice.  If you doctor says its okay and she still has a goodheart beat sometimes i would imagine it was okay.  I couldn't even begin to imagine what the babies actualy do in there.
