very nervous. anyone else?

I'm 19w1d and yesterday i had my monthly visit and well my due date WAS December 25th but my first ultrasound they changed out to January 2nd and do yesterday three down syndrome blood test came back and it was positive. They said it most likely is because my dates were off but i won't know for sure till my next ultrasound on the 22nd. Had anyone else ever had a false reading?

I agree...those test can give false positives, I didnt even want it done because of.hearing some ppl say it gives false positive results, andI dont like worrying for nothing...i did not have it done with my first pregnancy, but this is my second with a new doctor and was so disappointed when she insisted that I have it done...it turned out negative

Well, what an awesome nurse, you can't just test "positive" for down syndrome, you can have a higher ratio of having a baby with down syndrome, but a blood test can't say, yes your child will have down syndrome, unless it's realllly high, and that's pretty uncommon. If they test too early or too late, it can also throw off the accuracy, and since they did it early on you, that might be the problem!

What do you mean it came out positive? Usually the blood tests will come back a ratio, of how likely your baby is to have it. Did they notice any markers for DS in your U/S either? I wouldn't stress over it, honestly, those things come back inaccurate ALL the time!
