Pending Miscarriage? Hope needed.

Here's my story.

I found out I was pregnant last month. Went in to see the OB/GYN, who ordered a blood test and ordered a transvag u/s for when my hcg levels reached 8000. He told me I should double the number I get back from the blood work, and keep doubling every 48hs, which is what I did. I got 402. So I got the u/s done at what I thought was 5w5d (my hcg levels would have been theoretically up to 12000) and the tech didn't see anything, not even a sac. My doc ordered another u/s and beta test. I got the u/s done the 20th of May and we saw a sac that measured 7mm. The doc told us it was barely 5w! So we were a bit off on our dates! My blood test had come back and it was only 3200.  Obviously, doubling was pretty slow.

MY OB said the doublinig rate my have slowed down because of vanishing twin syndrome (which is plausible in my case), or perhaps I'm just a slow riser.  He ordered another u/s.  I had scheduled it for the 9th.  But this Sunday, when I wiped I saw a bit of blood, and a tiny small clot.  All through Monday and Tuesday I just had brownish pinkish discharge mixed in with cervical mucus (sorry, if TMI).  I went to my OB to see if everything was OK.  I had an u/s, and they saw a gest sac AND a yolk sac, no embryo just yet.  My OB says it looks like the growth is slowing down, or has already stopped growing.  I have another u/s on the 9th, to see if we can see my little pea, or if I am indeed going to miscarry.  I am truly heartbroken, I've never known pain like this.

Has anyone had this happen to them and everything turned out OK?  I just need a little hope.
